What’s it all about?
The Ethics Institute & EASI
There is increasing pressure on large organisations to ensure that their suppliers are ethically aware on issues such as anti-corruption, labour, environmental and human rights practices.
EASI, which stands for “Ethically Aware Supplier Induction”, is an online short course in business ethics, presented by The Ethics Institute, an independent public institute producing original thought leadership and offering a range of ethics-related services and products.
Raising awareness on ethical business practices
It is an interactive programme with animated video content, case-studies, practical scenarios and exercises.
The EASI programme:
- Serves as a comprehensive training programme for raising awareness on ethical business practices;
- Offers large organisations the opportunity to train their suppliers on ethical business practices; and
- Provides an opportunity for SMEs to be accredited as ‘Ethically Aware’.
For companies who want to train their suppliers
The programme is especially designed for executive managers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who need to make sense of increasing ethics demands on their businesses – and what to do about it.
The idea is that large companies, in the interests of good governance, will use the EASI programme to train SMEs in their supply chains. The trained SMEs will be accredited as being “Ethically Aware”, and this accreditation will be accepted by a number of supporting large organisations.
Praise for EASI
The course content was extremely good and covered what was needed to be covered.
It was able to unpack a lot of what I personally subscribe to and practice but not always able to explain or even in a way that I could teach. This has helped me to now be able to show and explain to my staff. Also has inspired me to write our own ethos centred around clients and doing the right thing.
I want to say that the training program is absolutely brilliant. It was very well designed, engaging and really useful and relevant. Even as a practitioner in this space, I learned many things that I did not think about in relation to business ethics.
This is a great course... it would be great to make it standard in business organisations. Thank you for the learning experience.
As a businessman I am confronted by possibilities of unethical practices - this was a great eye-opener.
I now know the difference of a bribe and gift.
The course gave me a lot to think about in different aspects of our business and has given me some useful information to take back and to discuss with my management team.
The illustrations were fun, so were the questions and exercises and though I spent about 2.5 hours on it, honestly, the time blew by so quickly. I actually wanted more.
I am now more aware of unethical scenarios. And with the help of the training I will make more informed decisions in future.
Very easy to understand and taught well. Interesting and keeps your attention.
